…omaha….a wonderful city. everyone always talks it down. it was beautiful and charming. yes a little sketch in some areas but every city has a little bit of that. its really artsy and wonderfully green. definitely enjoyed my time there.
…college graduates…gotta love being surrounded by people who are so excited to have accomplished something that they worked so hard at. plus everyone i talked to this past weekend was full of inspiration and excitement over how the world could be. to take what we have and transform our world into a place of love. of justice. of peace and of joy. it was encouraging and exciting.
…road trips…always worth every minute. i spent 16 hours in the car with mama and papa wanberg. conversations were full of every subject from politics to sex to gardening. it was a wonderful time plus the ride was full of laughter including amazing quotes like these…
“sometimes i wish i had a mini taser” - anita
“i’m so misunderstood.” - tom
“we are all the strongest sperm. think of all the other sperm we beat out to be in existence.” - peter
…connections…i love how sometimes you meet people and you can’t help but have an instant connection. that is a wonderful feeling. its nice to know that you can just meet up with someone and easily talk to each other and share life. love it. makes the world just seem a little bit more wonderful.
…jealous…carolyn took us to her school to meet her kids where she student taught. i watched how excited her kids were to see her and how they ran to hug her. i thought she might collapse from all the hugs. i found myself being so jealous. i miss my kids hugging me like that everyday. i miss seeing them and being part of their lives. i want so much to be part of the lives of students here in denver and i’m trying to trust that its all gonna work out the way it should. may this time be full of faith and trust.
