well this has been my first summer home in denver for the first time since i graduated from high school. all my life i have enjoyed summertime in denver. it was always the perfect temperature and there were always so many fun things to do. camp was the first to steal me away for 5 straight summers of wonderful memories. then thailand kept me wrapped in an eternal summer last year so this is my first time home. (plus this is the first summer since i was 13 that i didn’t have a job…believe me i am more than ready to be employed)
its been so much fun. just to paint the picture let me share some…bike rides (road and mountain…with some coaxing). trips to visit camp. a beautiful wedding. sleep overs with friends. movies on the rocks. birthday parties. a week volunteering at camp. a chalk art festival. totaling my car and so much more. this weekend i get to spend 4 days at our family’s cabin with my dad just exploring and hanging out.
more than anything though this summer i have seen the beauty and value in the relationships i have. i have such a wonderful family who would do anything for me and support me in all that i do. they keep me level headed and provide so many good laughs. i have the best friends in the world who continually shower me with love. i’m so thankful for a such a solid group. and i can’t help but be thankful for my health. i can run, i can bike, i can see, i can walk, i can take care of myself. this past week has really shown me how much i take that for granted. i am thoroughly blessed even if times are hard. i am a lucky girl.
